CASE IH DAY FILLED WITH ACTIVITIES FOR THE FAMILY
RACINE, Wis. - Case IH is at the 2009 Racine County Fair, with special activities to celebrate Case IH day on Saturday, Aug. 1, 2009.
Case IH is a global leader in agricultural equipment that has its worldwide headquarters in Racine, Wis., where the Case IH Magnum™ Series tractor is manufactured at the Racine Plant.
Activities being held during the fair include:
- "Backhoe Drop in the Bucket" Contest gives entrants the chance to operate a Case IH Farmall® tractor equipped with a backhoe attachment. The goal is to pick up three different balls, suspended by pylons, with the backhoe and drop each ball into a plastic can "bucket." Preliminary heats will run from 10 a.m. to noon and from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday. The two entrants with the best times in each heat will advance to the finals at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 2, at the Grandstand.
- "Racine County's Strongest Person" Tractor Pull takes place on Friday, July 31. Contestants wear a pulling harness that is attached to a Case IH Farmall ROPS tractor, weighing approximately two tons. Individuals must pull the tractor over a 50-foot straight course. Preliminary pulls are from 1 to 4 p.m. The entrants with the two fastest times during the preliminary heat will pull in the finals at 6:30 p.m. In the final heat, entrants will pull the tractor over a 100-foot straight course.
- The Case IH equipment display with tractors, combines and Case Construction equipment provides special photo opportunities and highlights the variety of products manufactured and sold by the Racine-headquartered company.
- Case IH special-edition merchandise will be available throughout the fair. On Saturday, a cap swap allows fairgoers to trade the hat they are wearing for a free IH cap.
- Special family activities on Saturday include tattoos for the kids and pedal tractor rides.
